Mary Ellen Carter
Cookbook author and cooking instructor, Mary Ellen Carter is one of Bellingham’s best known food enthusiasts and a strong advocate of returning to the table to enjoy good food. Mary Ellen has authored 4 cookbooks including the local best-seller - At Joe’s Garden Harvest Recipes of the Northwest. Her latest cookbook Accent on Asia - Recipes for a Culinary Adventure reflects the last 15 years of teaching with the focus being on Asian cooking.
Paul Cartwright
A graduate of North Idaho Culinary Program, Chef Paul has been cooking since he was 10 years old. He and his wife owned a steak house in Mukilteo and he is presently the Chef at the Stanwood Grill. His food interests are broad, but tends to lean toward Northwest Cuisine focusing on fresh local products.
Knut Christensen
Knut is owner of Paella Works Catering Company. He has 17 years experience, specializing in Mediterranean and Italian Cuisine.
Scot Fraser
An in-house favorite, Chef Scott has returned to Gretchens. He and his wife Josee own Frasers Gourmet Hideaway, one of Oak Harbor’s most elegant restaurants.
Nahla Gholam
Nahla is co-owner of Mediterranean Specialties Café & Goods in Bellingham. Her cooking skills developed through world travel, life experiences and a passion for good food. Nahla cooks and teaches classes in her store.
Tom Hoffman
Born and raised in Mount Vernon, Tom is the chef of the Varsity Inn in Burlington. He was formerly co-owner and chef of Ferry Street Grill & Bar in Sedro Woolley, WA.
Jim Kowalski
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Jim has worked as a Chef in the Pacific NW since 2000. Jim and Lisa are the new owners of “Farm to Market Bakery” in Edison. Jim continues to do catering events and private parties.
Casey Schanen
Raised on a Skagit Valley farm, Casey is passionate about his heritage and features local organically grown food in his restaurant. Chef Casey and his wife Susan own the very popular Nell Thorn restaurant.
Nicholas Smith
A Le Cordon Bleu graduate of Scottsdale culinary Institute and Territory Manager for Zwilling, JA Henckels. Nicholas has held previous positions as Chef De Cuisine at the Four Seasons, Beverly Hills, Sous Chef for Celebrated Cuisine - AA Catering Company and a Private Chef for hire. Nicholas has never lost his passion for food and has returned to represent the best tools and products for a living.
